Spotlight on Diversity in Your Team

Of course all of our themes are geared towards bonding the team and making them communicate on a new level. That should go without saying.

What we have found though, is that it is more important to get your team to recognize that many people have different skill sets, and that it is important for ‘Joe’ to be able to do things ‘Mike’ cannot, and vice versa. Great teams are people coming together with unique skill sets towards a common goal, not everyone being good at the same things.

Our themes tend to put spotlights on the unique abilities of individuals on the team, as well as, and sometimes more importantly, a spotlight on the people who check out and leave teammates to do all the work. The more analytical person is just as valuable as the creative minded. The magic is finding out how to collaborate those skill sets. It is like having a super power.  If The Avengers were comprised of 6 people with the exact same Super Power, you would only ever really need 1 of them. Six Hulks just means everything got Smashed.

There is a reason machines are comprised of several parts and components. Your team is not unique from this.
